Story behind the name: It's a dual-bladed drisk weapon and dimachaeri were Roman gladiators that fought with two swords at once. It came to my mind because I'm decently interested in ancient history.

Name pronounced: It sounds how it looks, have fun with it, it's meant to be a funny name!
Story behind the name: Its a funny name that I saw in an internet meme several years ago. I wanted to name my robot something that announcers could have fun with.
Weapon: 5" diameter 1/4" thick Horizontal spinner
About the bot: The Throngler is not meant to be a Thagomizer style robot whose strategy is to whip around and hit the opponent's side, but rather a 2-in-1 robot that I can switch between driving like a wedge and driving like a horizontal as needed, cancelling the type advantage from most other robot designs. The weight is split fairly evenly between the weapon module on the front and the defense module on the back, so the center of mass is right over the wheels, making it very maneuverable. The most recent iteration has been to 4 events and fought 21 times without being knocked out (or even being close to knocked out). I look forward to seeing if that trend continues with NHRL caliber competition!

Name pronounced: Poo-ka
Story behind the name: Like most of my robots, "Púca" comes from Celtic folklore. Púcas are shapeshifting horses similar to Kelpies (the name of my other beetle).
They most commonly take the shape of a sleek black horse with luminescent golden eyes. While Kelpies are murderous in nature, Púcas lean more towards mischievous. Kelpies will entice humans to ride them with the intention of devouring them while Púcas just give their riders a wild and terrifying ride to mess with them.

About the bot: Púca is a scaled down version of my 12lb drum spinner "Son of Kram", but instead of a stacked disk drum, Púca uses a single piece of hardened 4130 for its drum.

Story behind the name: In our first design, the robot’s weapon was made from several slices of material, so we chose the name Sliced Bread. We’ve since changed the weapon but decided to keep the name. If nothing else, when we lose we can tell our opponents “they must be the best thing since Sliced Bread.”

Name pronounced: it's a mix of "Jackrabbit" and "Antelope," so a long "O" at the end
Story behind the name: Jackalopes are the chimeras of the Old American Western Frontier, with the body and speed of a rabbit and the horns and strength of an antelope. Similarly, Jackalope (the robot) is designed to me extremely fast, and has the horns of a lifter bot with the strength of a hubmotor vert as well. Two in one!

About the bot: Little Bob was our first foray into robot combat in January 2024. We've been very lucky in drawing into tournaments, and somehow have managed a 12-6 record heading into October. We've constantly been updating the bot since January, but v3 now has the biggest changes, with a custom chassis replacing the Black Frost EVO kit, and Repeat Max v2 replacing the Mega Sparks for the drive. It's been a great run thus far, but after coming up short of prime time twice at the hands of Loopy and Chainsaw Kitty, we hope October is finally the time to make it to the final 8, and maybe even qualify a rookie beater bar. Story behind the name: Division V4, while it may sound like an iteration of the prior design, is closer to a spiritual successor. This is the first time since V1.0 that essentially nothing is reused from the prior designs - different weapon diameter, wheel diameter, electronics, everything is new.

Story behind the name: The colors are red and blue and the pokemon are red and blue. I thought the robots are cute in design and the pokemon are some of my favorite. With them being a pair, it seemed like a perfect name.
Weapon: Minun and Plusle are the same exact robot with the same weapon. The weapon is a 3/4 thick 5 inch vertical disk on a 1250kv hub motor on 4s that leads to it storing 1400 joules of kinetic energy. The hub motor is designed from scratch and made entirely by Honey Cracked team members with in house tools.
About the bot: Minun and Plusle are equal weight vertical disk multibots where Plusle is driven by Zoe from team Honey Cracked and Minun is driven by Matt from Team Defective. Team Defective and Team Honey Cracked are working in collaboration to create fun robots and have become good friends.
